Born on August 4, 1901, in the poorest section of New Orleans, Armstrong grew up with his grandparents due to his parents' separation. On January 1, 1913 he made a mistake which turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to him. At a New Year's celebration in downtown New Orleans, Louis Armstrong, also known as ?Satchmo? and ?Satch?, fired a pistol into the air and was placed in the Colored Waifs' Home. It was there that he was introduced to Peter Davis ? the brass band leader who taught him how to play the cornet (Brown 17). Soon after he began playing, Armstrong was made leader of the band ? something he was extremely proud of. In June of 1914, Armstrong was free to leave the Waifs' Home. He was hired by various cabarets throughout the city, as well as for picnics, dances, and funerals. It was at one of these places that he was spotted by the famous Joe ?King' Oliver. King Oliver found Armstrong stand-in slots at orchestras and other venues. In 1918, he was offered the vacant seat left by Oliver in the band the Brown Skinned Babies. Kid Ory, leader of the band, once said that after Louis joined them he, improved so fast it was amazing. He had a wonderful ear and a wonderful memory. Armstrong soon became very popular in St. Louis and was in high demand (Collier 124). Two and a half years later, he was thrown off the riverboat and fired due to a fight. After returning to New Orleans, he received a telegram from King Oliver in Chicago. It was an invitation to join The Creole Jazz Band ? an offer Armstrong couldn't refuse. The Jazz Band cut it's first record in the spring of 1923 and toured throughout Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana (Hadlock 64). A year later Armstrong married Lil Hardin, the pianist in the band. He soon grew tired of playing in Chicago and left Oliver's band to head for New York City. When Armstrong reached the City and began playing everyone went wild. No where had they ever heard anything like him. Before this time, he had only played instruments but he was soon encouraged to begin singing. It was then discovered that Armstrong had a natural extension of his trumpet abilities, which was singing. His gravelly voice was something new that had never been heard (Sadie 600). Armstrong formed a studio band in 1925 called the Hot Five. The band included Johnny Dodds, Kid Ory, John St. Cyr, Lil Armstrong, and himself. These recordings were some of the most famous made by Armstrong, including ?Mandy Make Up Your Mind? and ?Money Blues? (Bergreen 96). A year later the Hot Five made their only public appearance at the Chicago Coliseum. The Chicago Defender spoke of ?Louis Armstrong, the miracle with steel lips,? (Boujut 27). On the day of Maviss 118th birthday, Dracula allowed her to go to see humans in the outside world. He did warned her about how he thinks humans would react to his monter kind. Torches, garlic, human, and fire are placed on the so called Village by dracula. In the Village set up itself, dracula sucessfully able to make Mavis believes that human do hate them. Quasimodo is someone in the same position as a head chef in normal hotel, his rats in other hand, act like his sous-chef. As time goes by, Dracula did cover up fake stories about Jonathan aka Johnnystein as a party planner for Mavis birthday. Mavis and Johnnystein then encounter many happy moments together but Dracula didnt agreed seeing Mavis with Jonathan. Johnnystein finally eaves the hotel with a sad broken heart to the airport to get back at home. Seeing her daughter also sad and broken hearted, Dracula along with his friend, chase Jonathan to ask him to stay. Two obstacle that they manage to pass is the parade that blocked the way to the airport, and the daylight condition. From the parade, Dracula and his friend did learn something new that, humans have changed. Humans are not afraid or hate monsters anymore. Time has changed. Dracula finally able to chase the plane which Jonathan stayed. Dracula comunicate with him using his power to cotrol and hypnotize people, which in this case; the pilot. They went back to the hotel and met Mavis, finished with a happy ending. The moral of the story really involve the role of Mr. Dracula as a father. Moral story that I learn from this story is that forcing your children to believe what you believed is never right. All things that he did to protect his daughter and friend is mainly because hes afraid that humans will treat the monters badly. He Just want his family and friends not to go through what he experienced. I dont blame him, hes Just being overly protective and expressed it the wrong way. Nobody taught him what to do or what decision to make, thats why he ake decision based on his natural intuition and experience. Which in this case, never trust the human and dont even get close to them, ever. From what I saw since the beginning of this movies, I have to say that the graphic is very nice and natural. It kinda reminds me of Tim Burtons and Neil Gaimans. The plot is unpredictable, overall I think this movie is a good one to watch. For me, I have to say that this movies is indeed a good one, but not as good as movies that really give the audience a big impact like: Shrek, Finding Nemo, or Toy Story, but still its worth to watch. Reasons to spend money, and reasons not to spend money. Reasons to give up, and reasons to take action. Pretty much every decision we make is based on a reason of some sort or another. Sometimes reasons conflict with each other. For instance, when I look at discounted mocha brownies in the day-old bin at my food coop, my brain comes up with many reasons to buy (and eat) the brownies. They are on sale! They will taste so good! I deserve it! Yet on most days, I do not buy them, because my reasons for not eating them far outweigh my reasons for indulging. I feel better. I look better. Kale will serve me so much better in the long run. Who cares if it costs twice as much and takes five times as much work to prepare? Reasons at work in your job search If you are a job seeker, you probably have lots of reasons to explain why you chose to apply or not apply for a particular job; why someone will or won’t hire you; and even why you are or are not going to hire a resume writer. You can choose to take the easy road, perhaps your default action (buying the mocha brownies), or you can choose to do something a little more difficult that will serve your career in the long term (invest in the kale). There’s no reason you can’t have a great resume to represent yourself!† Where are you stopped? If you are a job seeker, where are you getting stopped? This interactive training module will be a medium to help students and enable them to get ideas on how to do their projects. This project presents the Interactive Training Modules for Microcontrolling and Microprocessing. It consists of combinations of different modules that are used for training that is available in the market and an interactive manual. The main objectives of this project is to have a low cost training module for Computer Engineering Department that can be used as an educational material in teaching basic microcontrolling and microprocessing to give the students ideas in creating their own projects. The interactive training modules will consist a microcontroller and different types of sensors, input/output devices, motors, and communication modules. Each module will have several easy to understand educational experiments and other using the combination of different modules. The interactive manual will contain all the instructions for the experiment, information about the microcontroller and other details that can be very helpful for the user of the trainer. A Gizduino (Arduino based microcontroller) will be used for this project because of being a low-cost microcontroller and easy to understand programming language which is C-based. We decided to purchase a ready made and low cost trainer that is easy to use and will have an additional feature like having a Ethernet Shield that can be used in controlling other modules. B. Statement of the problem The proponents aim to present the general problem and specific problems.
